June 17th - Icelandic National Day

June 17th will be celebrated in Vík. The programme starts with a mass in Vík´s church at 11:00, followed by a parade at 12:00 from the festival area (next to Arion Bank). After the parade, speeches will be held, including one from Fjallkonan - the woman of the mountain, dressed in the national costume (Skautbúningur), which will recite a poem.
At the festival area will be Formula off-road vehicles on the site, bouncy castles for kids and booths selling flags, lollipops, rattles, helium balloons, grilled sausages and juices.
The programme includes family entertainment like standing bingo, a tug of war, and a caramel candy search.
At 14:30 will be a national festival´s coffee at Leikskáli´s Community Center, where everyone is welcome.
